Let's Buy Used Books

A place where we can share thoughts, imagination, and even buying and selling. Here's one of my favorite places in Solo, the used books market. Located in the north of the Kasunanan Solo Palace, adjoined with antiques shop and lower class eyes glass shop. We can find magazines, comic books, tabloids, novels, dictionaries, scientific dictionaries, clippings, literature books, maps, old books (palace relics, colonial relics, handwritten books, the book reads Java script, etc.), antique photo, stamps, and even you can find old-fashioned toys which popular in 60's-80's. Price range 1000 Rupiahs to infinity. At least once a month I definitely took time to visit here, whether it's being looking for books, or just for kicks while pray can find something crazy stuff here.

While Gramedia book store had launched cheap books sale, here the traders waiting for a used book lovers like me to do business with. Haggling has became common here. And don't be surprised if the traders here know very well figure of Pram, Goenawan Muhammad, Nietzsche, Gorz, Tolstoy, Marx. They've understood very well the value of a book they sell. This is where the pleasure is, we can talk a lot with them as we chat with the author. Because of books they smart, because of books they can live.

Rather than it become garbage, rather than it yawning black polluting, we might read it and treat it.

Omah Lowo (Goodbye Blue Sky)

Goodbye Blue Sky
Did you see the frightened ones?
Did you hear the falling bombs?
Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter
When the promise of a brave new world
Unfurled beneath a clear blue sky?

Did you see the frightened ones?
Did you hear the falling bombs?
The flames are all long gone, but the pain lingers on.

Goodbye, blue sky
Goodbye, blue sky
Goodbye...
